I was honoured to be a part of Barnes Film Festival. Everyone was warm and welcoming. There were so many wonderful screenings and talks on — it was hard to choose which ones to attend!
The festival has great panelists and judges: giving you access to industry professionals that you otherwise wouldn’t get.
An extremely well run and friendly festival which I recommend everyone takes notice of.
We were lucky to win first prize in our age category. Barnes was the first win for Perched which has since been screened at over 100 festivals worldwide, winning 18 awards. It has also been seen at six Oscar qualifying screenings.
People today have access to unprecedented ways of making movies, yet that is still no substitute to learning about film within a community of equally passionate people under the mentorship of people who can guide their enthusiasm.
Barnes Film Festival gives you a platform to show your work as well as access to be inspired by other people’s work. Film Festivals are about relationships and meeting people as much as anything, not just discussing the film at the start and end of a screening, but forming personal working relationships as much as appreciating the final product.“
